Termites Cause House Fire
A person from the Eurobodalla has been taken to hospital after a housefire near Batemans Bay this morning.
Emergency Services were called the fire at Moorong Crescent in Malua Bay just after 7am today.
RFS evacuated the single occupant who was treated by Paradmedics, and taken to Moruya hospital is a stable condition.
The fire was reportedly caused by termites eating electrical cables with the power short circuiting, and was contained within 20 minutes of Fire and Rescue and RFS crews arriving.
Fire & Rescue Batemans Bay want to remind locals that working smoke alarms save lives.
A second fire-related incident was reported in Bawley Point at 381 Murramarang Road around 8:30am, which was updated to under control minutes after it was first reported.
